For as far back as she can remember, Shannon has been interested in living a holistic lifestyle through nutrition, movement, and spiritual practices. 10 years ago, her first yoga class with Neiley and Rick Snide of Balanced Union Yoga, opened her eyes to a new path that her life could take. She continues to expand upon her knowledge and experiences in the realm of health and wellness, as well as spiritual growth and development by learning from different instructors, reading, and her own self practice. Shannon has received certifications from the C.H.E.K. Institute (Holistic Lifestyle Coaching), NASM (Certified Personal Trainer), Precision Nutrition, Usui Reiki Level III, and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health (200-HR YTT). Shannon’s approach to teaching brings the student’s attention inward as they explore and observe each posture using anatomical cues, the breath, and each changing sensation. During each class, students are reminded that it is their practice and are invited to explore each posture, making it their own unique expression. Through yoga, fitness and nutrition, Shannon aims to inspire others to come to realize their true potential, their true purpose, and that we each have all the tools we will ever need already within us.
